ONLY A GOD THING!!!

Kirk challenged the young people to be open to God's leading in their lives and that you never know how this mission exposure to Guatemala might effect their lives in the days, weeks, months and even years to come.

We had been praying with Karen and Kirk along with their children about our plans for the week while they were in Guatemala. We asked that the Lord direct our steps and connect us with the right folks along the way. We stayed 3 nights at CAM's retreat location in Panajachel. Glenn opened the gate when he heard a group on the other side. It was Wayne Huff (WBT missionary) who we have known for ages. Wayne was leading a huge youth group from Fort Worth on a missionary trip to Santiago (on the other side of the lake). Long story short - This youth group is from the church that Karen and Kirk use to attend. Small world...no, big family.

Wayne spoke to the young people about the history of Cammeron Townsend and CAM (Central America Mission) and Wycliffe Bible Translators. He shared how Uncle Cam got his vision to begin WBT right here on the property. He shared how Uncle Cam shared the loss of Mr. Robinson who drowned in the lake. He share how Uncle Cam was able to make a connection with the Mexican government and start SIL. In short, it was a blessing for the Josephs to hear the rich history that Las Buenas Nueva has had in furthering the cause of the Gospel.

More later.
