Praise Ye the Lord

Psalm 150
King James Version

Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Panama City {part 2 of 2}

Panama City has the most
b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l-i-s-t
skyline
 I have ever seen.
Look at this building!
It is known as the Revolution Tower.

Abby took us to Mi Ranchito Restaurant right on the harbor.
We had fish and fried yucca.
Yum

Panama Canal {part 1 of 2}

Glenn and I had an intentional 23 hour layover in Panama on our way back home to Guatemala.  We were blessed to be able to visit another Camino missionary and then with Abby, friend from Dallas, who is on staff at a local church in Panama City, Panama.
We watched them close and open the gates as these huge container ships were traveling from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean at the Mira Flores Locks, just outside of Panama City.

This particular ship was heading up to the east coast of the US and was empty.
As the ships would go through, an announcement was made about the history, size and direction the ship was going as well as how much it was paying for passage.
Then the gates would close behind it and the water filled each of the chambers, causing the ship to rise to the next level of the canal.

Note the level of the water now.
and the ship continues through to the second set of locks and on up
 towards the Atlantic Ocean/Carribean.

Visiting the Panama Canal was one of the most amazing things that I have experienced.  Check that off my bucket list.

Baby Tony Romo

"Ready,
Set,
Hike!"
"Or maybe I could be the water boy,
cause I like playing with the empty water bottles."
"I smile when the Dallas Cowboys
win!"
"I like football"
 "I love my Grammie!"

Mirror Mirror On The Wall

While visiting David, Ellen and Luke over the Independence Holiday weekend, GrandDad and I had more fun with Baby David.  I couldn't resist him sitting in the sink and laughing and giggling at himself in the mirror.

David got his First Haircut on Sunday night.
We took David on walks through the neighborhood.  We went to the local store to buy some milk, fruit and bread. We also got to see and listen to this "talkative" parrot.

...and of course David loved watching Football with GrandDad!
We had a special time just keeping David while his parents made a quick overnight trip to see their friend, Carey.  It was a good break for Ellen and Luke to have some time away.  And it was fun for us to have some Grammie, GrandDad time with Baby David.

Whether it is enjoying mirrors, football games, parrots, dogs, iguanas, etc....It is these parents' and grandparents' hopes and prayers that David would reflect on Jesus and mirror the actions/attitudes of his family that reflect who Jesus is.

Swim David Swim

Baby David loves the water!
As David and GrandDad were swimming, I found this iguana sunbathing on the tree nearby.

A Boy and His McDonald's

As soon as we arrived in Nicaragua, we headed to the local McDonalds.  In case you were wondering...this was only water and a bit of ice...a real treat in this humid Nicaragua climate.

Then several days later, we adventured out to McDonalds again, this time to a different location with a different playground that was more "user friendly" for a 1 year old.  David had a little competition with this young fellow.

Guatemalan Cookies

Last week while Glenn was recuperating, a dear friend brought some cookies for us.  I had to take a second look.

Its the shape of Guatemala.

The Sign Says... Shhh...

On this corner, we noticed a new sign that was placed right where they sell puppy dogs every weekend.  For those of you who are familiar with the city, this is just off of the Periferico on your way as you wind around near the Catholic church to get to the bridge leading to San Cristobal.

The sign reads:  Prohibido colocar todo tip de ventas
Prohibited to sell anything here.

And they're selling right underneath the sign. Hmmm
