Good Friday in Antigua, Guatemala

We drove back through Antigua, spending 1/2 day there and dropping off Ellen and Luke plus Scott and Barbara to spend more time there.

It was a unique and interesting experience.

The Lake

Meeting Marta at LBN

Monkey Tail Plant

The sun came out on our last morning in Panajachel and we could see clear across the lake!

Mom and Dad love the flowers, relaxation time and the chance to visit with family (Ellen and Luke were here from Nicaragua)

Visits

For the past week, we've had the honor to have my parents here for a visit.
then
Ellen and Luke took the 18 hour bus ride from Nicaragua and will be with us for 6 days here,
so we had a little "baby shower".
It's been fun to have both Ellen and Luke along with G'mommy and G'daddy here too!

One Foote in Front of Another

Abagail Foote

The Foote family arrived after being in the states to deliver this sweet little baby girl.  Glenn and G'daddy went to the airport the other day to pick up the whole family, plus luggage and all.  We were honored to have them stay with us before they continued on home.

CAM Conference

Selfs and Ekstroms
the newest CAM missionaries meeting the most experienced ones

Last weekend we attended the annual CAM Guatemala Fellowship Conference.  For the first time in 5 years, Glenn and I were not organizing the event, we only participated as consultants.  We thoroughly enjoyed the teaching, worship, relaxation, food and games!  Below are some photos.

Dr Pepper

While walking the streets of Antigua the other day, Glenn found a small tienda that sold our favorite drink.

A God Send

Last week while attending NBC World Passion week, I mentioned to Glenn that we needed to call our friends, Cheryl and Seth.  Well, life happened, and we didn't get around to it.

But God had different things in mind.
Glenn and I had gone to Chick-Fil-A to use the free coupon sandwich that NBC had given us. Then this lady comes over and gives us a huge hug.  It was Cheryl and Seth!  I guess there was no use of calling them up earlier in the day, since the Lord knew we would meet them randomly at the restaurant later that day.

Another "Small World...Big Family" illustration!

We had several other "random" occurrences of meeting folks from the past, during our week-long "World Passion" week at NBC.  While purchasing some cross stitch thread at a local store, I started talking to the clerk and found out that she attended NBC as a youth and even went on the NBC mission trip back in the 80's to Guatemala.

World Passion Week 2011

Glenn and I participated in a week long Passion Week at Northwest Bible Church in Dallas.  This was the church we were married in 31+ years ago and have been supported many many years by the church.

We were kept busy with different activities such as Mocha and Missions, Ladies Bible Study, Breakfast with the missionaries, 3 small group meetings, "Go and Be" service project with Hildalgo ministry and speaking in Sunday School class.

We connected with new friends in the church

and old friends too!*
*I've known Tabitha for years, mostly her mom and dad for over 30 years, and she came up to us and introduced herself to us!
We feel humbled, honored and privileged to have the support and prayers from this great body of believers.  Thank you Northwest for your prayers and support for the ministry we share in Guatemala!
