Trisha Williams and Johnny & María Coker joined us for dinner with Bob and Anne Henriques along with Ann's mom, Marge Watson.
MEA team (Mission Exposure Adventure).
Bob and Ann have been CAM missionaries over 40 years. They have basically ministered in nearly every aspect of the Guatemala field. Most recently, Bob and Ann teach at GBS (Guatemala Bible Seminary) in Chimaltenango, about a 45 minute drive from Guatemala City.
Bob and Ann host MEA teams 2 or 3 times a year. They take young people, church groups, old and young and show them a broad scope of missionary work here in Guatemala. One evening, Bob invited Glenn and me over to their house for dinner to interact with the young people. Trisha Williams and her new roommate, a teacher at CAG, shared with the group too.
This particular team of young 20's and 30's were from the states, with a few from Hong Kong, and others who have experience serving in Tiawan. I shared my "boarding pass" story with the young people.
Later that week, Bob took the 12 young people to Lake Atitlán. They also saw the "city dump" ministry, camping ministry and other aspects of missionary life here in Guatemala.
I really appreciate Bob's honest desire to share his story with young people and for them to be challenged to live outside the box and consider opportunities to serve overseas and serve the Lord on the mission field.
More later,
Judy
