Glenn's Diet and Progress
Glenn has had a flurry of doctor appointments recently. He has met with his nutritionist and they have discussed his plans for eating the right food and monitoring his weight.
Have you ever gone to a dietician and they recommend tortillas, black beans and papaya juice as part of your diet? I guess we live in Guatemala. Glenn has substituted the tortillas with whole wheat toast but has enjoyed his fresh papaya.
Since Glenn's heart attack on Sept 17, he has cut way back on his excesive activity levels, cutting his work load back to just 40 hours a week instead of the 65-80 hours he was doing. For someone who loves to "help" folks it has been a difficult change of life style.
Glenn and I are walking every morning and sometimes in the evenings - 50 minutes.
Glenn will have a stress test on Thursday morning (THANKSGIVING DAY!). I think he will be thankful when the test is over. So, instead of watching the Macy's Day Parade, Glenn will be marching to the beat of a different drum.
Again, we are thankful for the excellent care we've received through the Cardio Care office.

So glad to hear Glenn is doing better and you are adjusting to the 'new' lifestyle. We pray that you both continue in good health, and will be praying for Glenn's stress test on Thursday. May the Lord bless you on Thanksgiving and always! Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteWe're so happy to hear that Glenn is doing better and that you're both adjusting to your 'new' lifestyle of less stressful work, exercise and a different diet. We'll be in prayer for the stress test, that the results will be fantastic and all will go well. May the Lord bless you this Thanksgiving and always! Hugs to you both! - Todd and Lisa Floyd
ReplyDeleteTell Glenn that I empathize with his stress test--had the same thing a few weeks ago. Running at an incline is not my idea of a fun morning! But now it's over--so enjoy.
ReplyDeleteTell Glenn that I can empathize with his stress test--just had one myself a few weeks ago! (My chest pain was just STRESS related, however.) Running uphill with all those cords attached to my chest isn't my idea of a fun morning either! But now it's over--so enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep it up, Glenn -- the Lord has gone before you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, Judy.
