Gary and Madison were married on Saturday, June 23, in a small stone chapel near her home in Kansas.
The bride was just
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L
Groom and Father of the Groom
Both good looking men, if I should say so myself.
The wedding ceremony was very personal, lovely and God-honoring. Shelly and I lit the unity candle. Dean gave the bride away to Gary. Both Gary and Madison recited their wedding vows which were spoken from the heart and drizzled with love.
They also took communion and then when the pastor asked for the ring, the best man didn't have it, nor did each groomsman down the line. Finally the very last groomsman produced the ring which was then passed all the way up the line to Gary. Gary didn't know about this "stunt", but it was a moment of levity which got a laugh.
Both Madison and Gary were very relaxed and enjoyed their wedding ceremony. Madison's dress was ivory lace and very elegant. It was very much Madison. Her colors for the wedding were Victorian.
Madison had an eye for details, down to the small white feathers that were a part of each bouquet and pew isle ends and were even at the reception tables.
The Best Man, Jordan, and Gary
Jordan and Gary grew up together, or at least spent time together when Gary was home on furlough. They worked on many youth group projects together and weekends at the Berta's house during college. It was a fun to see how they could pick up their friendship, after years of being separated, either because of Gary growing up in Bolivia or being off to college.
