Saturday, we spent with the Foote family. Glenn and Daphne had arranged for us to take a private boat over to Santiago, then to San Antonio Palopó and back to Panajachel.
Although the Foote family are temporarily hosting LBN (Las Buenas Nuevas), they graciously opened up their home to the GPBC team and visited with us. Danny shared of their ministry here in Guatemala. He shared their joys and their challenges. The GPBC team was touched and blessed by their transparency!
Some of the younger team members loved interacting with the Foote kids.
Then we walked up the dirt path to the main road.
We all climbed into the back of a small Toyota pick-up truck. The driver had to start the engine twice to get it up the hill. And he had to go slowly over the speed bumps. The price was only one Quetzal per person:), about 15 cents.
After some market shopping and enjoying the local Tzutujíl folks from the town of Santiago, we had lunch at El Gran Sol Restaurant. Then we started down the street to catch our boat for the second leg of our trip. This time we went to San Antonio Palopó.
Last minute shopping. It seems that Karis and Karen always had a following, vendors trying to sell their typical, hand made goods to them.
We ended the Lake Atitlán excursion with a short visit at Nancy's shop.
