Metroplitan Baptist Church Mission Festival

We were honored to participate in a Mission Festival at a new partnering church.

We spoke with small groups.
Some of these folks remember when Glenn attended Metropolitan during the time when he was living in the Wycliffe house back in the 60's as a WBT missionary kid in 4th grade.

We visited with a group over brunch on Sunday.
Yes, another selfie photo with another group of prayer warriors.
Special Outing at the Science Museum Oklahoma
The special exhibit on the life of Leonardo "Da Vinci" was very informative and creative.  It was special to have a day for the missionaries to enjoy an outing together.  If you are ever in OKC, take advantage of this terrific Museum.
Besides the iconic master piece painting of the Mona Lisa, Leonardo was an inventor, scientist, musician and artist.
I was able to locate the "old building" where Metropolitan worshiped back in the day when Glenn attended while in 4th grade.  Sadly, it didn't jog his memory.
On Sunday, we spoke at a Sunday School class.  And what better way to "tell our story", but to have a "Show and Tell".  We asked Jenny and her family to come and share.  The Scotts served for 10 years with us in Guatemala and have recently relocated to OKC to work in a church plant.  Jenny shared how we would "come along side" and give Pastoral Care to them, their family and other missionaries in Guatemala.  We were blessed to have the Scott family be with us to share our story, in a creative, fresh and personal way.
We had a delightful lunch at the historical Estate of Castle Falls Restaurant
The closing Wednesday night program was encouraging, uplifting and God honoring as MBC missionary, Jean (and her late husband, Dennis), were highlighted for their many years of faithful ministry in Guatemala with WBT.

The church honored long-time missionary, Jean Stratmeyer, for her work with the translation of the Jacalteco Bible in Guatemala.  Mart Green, founder and CEO of Mardel Christian Books (also with connections with Hobby Lobby), spoke about the faithfulness of God and His servant.
Glenn reconnected with these MKs (Jean's chidren) who would travel through Ixmilquilpan, Mexico. - 50 years ago!

In Summary, we are thankful for the packed week we spent with new friends at Metropolitan Baptist Church.  We are grateful for this new and encouraging partnership.  We are even more thankful for their prayers for our pastoral care ministry with Camino Global.

Thank you!
