On Friday, Glenn and I attended the afternoon Independence Day program at CAG (Christian Academy of Guatemala). Several of our mk's (missionary kids) attend there and this is where Gary graduated from High School back in 2007.
CAG had invited another Guatemalan school to preform also. They were complete with a marching band and majorettes.
One of the Camino TCKs (third culture kids), little Emma, preformed with her kindergarten class.
Also, missionary-kid, Gracie danced too. She is the grand daughter of one of the missionaries we worked with in Bolivia years ago.
September 15th is the day on which Guatemala won its independence from Spain in 1821.
Four other countries also declared their independence on September 15, 1821: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.
