Rain Forest

Between Xela and the coast, as the road winds quickly down to sea-level, you can stop by the side of the road and drink in this beautiful location.
Coffee plantations on either side.  There is a zip-line near by.
It starts getting stickey and hot.
Beautiful.  Green and Lush.

Cowboys Training Camp

While traveling through San Antonio, we stopped off at the AlamoDome and watched 4 hours of the Dallas Cowboys practices,  FREE.  We only had to pay $10.00 to park.

It was fun to see the pattern of the team practice, both offense and defense.
Go Cowboys!

BFF

Last month, while co-workers, Bob and Shirley (my BFF:) were in town for SETECA, we took the afternoon to show them the nice mall, Oakland.  McCafĂ© wasn't too bad either.
Then several weeks later, we visited them in their home in South Texas, so they took us to South Padre Island so I could stick my big toe in the water.  Well, I didn't stick my toe in the water, but I stuck it in the sand!  That was enough for me.

Good Samaritan

It was about 7am in the morning, a couple of weeks ago, when Glenn and I were walking in our small neighborhood.  One of the Guatemalan ladies was out by her car and it needed a "jump start".  Glenn walked  home, got the jumper cables and helped start her car.

2 days later, she brought this cute CHOCOLATE bar
in the form of pliers.
How cute is that?
It was her way of saying
"Thank You!"

The chocolate was delicious.

Front of Las Buenas Nuevas

I love the Street sign on the wall in Panajachel.
The sign reads
"Street - Good News!"

With construction coming along, the green tin dividers were taken down so now the beautiful stone work is showing.
I love this place.

Passport and David

When Luke and Ellen drove us to the airport to leave last week, I couldn't resist taking a picture of sleeping David with my boarding pass and passport.
He was sound asleep when we gave him our last hug.

Perhaps he'll love to travel like her Grammie and come see me in Guatemala some day. :)

David's Blue Blanket

David fast asleep

29 years ago, GrandMommy made a blue blanket for Ellen (her 3rd grandchild).
I've kept it all these years.
I used it with all 3 of my kids.
So now, little David is being swaddled by the
same
blanket his mom was
swaddled in back in 1982.

David + Water = Sleep

Last week, we spent 4 days and 3 nights at the Nicaraguan coast celebrating Ellen's 29th birthday and GrandDad's 56th birthday.

Glenn was holding Baby David and he fell right to sleep!
Later in the evening we went out into the Pacific Ocean.
