Last Saturday, Glenn picked up Jessica and Josh from Atlanta. They're here to visit their little Guatemalan baby they are adopting in the next few months. They'll stay with us again tonight before heading back to Atlanta on May 19th

This was a great time to relax and see the creativity come out of the CAM ladies.
One CAM missionary lady said to me that it was the most relaxing afternoon she had had in a long time, not having to care for her aging mother. It was good therapy for her.
Most of the ladies walked about with a handful of cards that they can use for their ministry. It was a great afternoon. Thanks Judy and Anne for your donations!
The hotel provided a relaxing atmosphere for folks. Our goal was to have the CAM missionaries together in a nice place, where they didn't have to worry much about the program, or being involved. 
The pool was a big hit for the kids on Saturday afternoon.

So, we go walking up Santander to Shop. Ian takes the fun out of, because he makes up his mind in 10 min. He had the whole street to continue to bargain and look for stuff, but once he made up his mind, he was finished shopping.

Beautiful Colorful Guatemala materials
We drove on the back road to Panajachel, staying at Las Buenas Nuevas, CAM owned property where 4 homes occupy an 1 1/2 acre of land on the shores of Lake Atitlán. Johnny and MarÃa Coker were visiting when we arrived. I think they were doing their laundry.
This is a Sears Roebuck Catalog house built nearly 80-90 years ago. Up in the "Prophet's Quarters" is where Cammeron Townsend, former Central America Mission missionary, and founder of Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL, started working on the translation of the Kachikel language.

We took the back road to Panajachel. We're thankful for the safety on the road. It is very isolated and famous for banditos.
Ian Leitch was CAM's conference speaker. He flew over from Ireland, oh I mean Scotland. He arrived a few days early so we could show him some Guatemala and introduce him to many CAM missionaries.
Or course Antigua was on our schedule. We visited with the Philipis for an hour.
As we were driving out of Antigua on the back road to Chimaltenango, I looked over to the right hand side and noticed some "gringoes" working by the river. I told Glenn, "I bet that is Forrest Kendall". Forrest works with water purification and helping local villages dig wells, and get clean water.
We turned around and sure enough, it was Forrest with a group of young people from Dallas and from Christ for the Nation.
