ALASKA! Wow!
What happens when you have 3 couples who traveled together through Chile back in 1994 for 2 weeks and then don't all get together again until 2017 for another spectacular trip - this time a 7 day cruise in Alaska?

We had a blast! Friendships that last!
Our trip started off seeing special friends, the Wecks and Captain Stackpole in Portland, Oregon. We then tacked on a great visit with former classmate, Linda, and another Moody Alumnus, Bernice, in Wasilla, Alaska.
Our trip was more than we could have asked for. We enjoyed the beauty of this spectacular state. Number 49.

Scott, the i-phone photographer, and Carol was our resident kite flyer. She loves to fly kites.
We had a great trip on the Alaska Railroad. The beauty was breath-taking.
Anchorage - Seward
We had a tour of the Iditarod Alaskan Husky camp. Very interesting.
We visited Exit Glacier near Seward, Alaska.
Day 1:
We cruised through Glacier Bay and did a 360 turn near Hubbard Glacier.

Day 3: Juneau, Alaska
and we were able to do a Letterbox!

We had coffee with Bob and Sharon from Longview, who were on a different cruise ship, but had the same stop in Juneau as we did! They were celebrating their 45 year anniversary!

Cruising through Tracy Arm
We were only in Juneau from 7am until 1pm. Our next voyage was to go into Tracy Arm, view the glaciers and icebergs floating in the pristine lake and river, turn around and come back out.
This iceberg is about the size of two football fields!

As we were cruising into
this Arm, we saw spectacular waterfalls, huge icebergs and the glacier
off in the distance. I visited with this one gal who was from Australia
and had traveled to New Zealand and she said "This is hands down 1,000 times more spectacular than the fjords in New Zealand!" I couldn't believe it. I soaked it all in.
Cruising through Tracy Arm was one of the most breath-taking scenes I have experienced.
