W-I-L-S-O-N!

Flat Stanley was spotted at the beach with Wilson!

I plan to post pic of my parent's 60th anniversary lake house party in the next few days.

Happy Anniversary to my sister, Sherrie and husband Steve. 19 years. Way to go. Looks like G'mommy and G'daddy will be keeping their kids.

Shopping & the World Race Team

So, we go walking up Santander Street to purchase some touristy items. Of course we are bombarded with gals that want to sell us stuff. Normally they shout out "Buy from me. I give you good price!"
Then Sherrie runs into these young people, a part of the World Race mission team, and we bring them back home to feed them "left over" Mexican Casserole. They loved it! They enjoyed speaking English to some "gingos". This group of young people are just beginning their journey around the world. 11 Countries in 11 months. Just 2 years ago, we met up with some other young people here in Guatemala with the same organization doing the same thing. For more information, go to www.theworldrace.org

Zip Lining

We caught Flat Stanley and Sherrie zip-lining. Been there, done that! So, Sherrie walked up the trail, enjoyed the wild animals (monkeys and birds) and exotic flowers along with beautiful waterfalls and hanging bridges.

Way to go Sherrie!

Blue is the Color

We drove 2 villages over to San Antonio Polopó where our friend Nancy decked Sherrie out. She has dressed up several of our friends in past years and Sherrie was no exception.

Xocomil Water Park

I had to turn my head twice to see these ladies in their traditional dress walking through the Water Park. I think you would do the same.

Lazy River.
Glenn and I kept little M and D while their parents and Sherrie went on some wild rides at the Water Park. I've been there and done that. So, it was nice to take the kids on the Lazy River where we floated along on the large inter tubes.

Little Naomi

Was this watermelon ever good!!!

Last week we traveled by boat over to Santiago to visit the Foote family. Again,we were blessed to be with their family. We hear that Naomi cried when we pulled away from the dock. She didn't want to see us leave. We'll see them again in a few weeks when we travel back out to the lake area again.

French Toast at Casa Del Mundo

I've said this before, if you are ever at Casa Del Mundo, don't forget to order French Toast made with home made bread.

After breakfast, we got a tour of the resort. Sweet!

Flat Stanley Sightings

A few days ago, we took Flat Stanley with us over to Casa Del Mundo. Yep, I had my favorite, homemade french toast. Delicious!
Then before taking our charter boat over to visit the Footes for the late morning and afternoon, Glenn found a very comfortable hammock to swing in.
Danny and Daphne are learning the T'sutujil language. Man, those sounds are difficult to make and I could see "steam" coming out of Danny's ears (is that your liver, Danny?:) as he practiced the sounds.
We enjoyed a nice afternoon meal with this family. We count it a privilege to work and serve along with them. They're great. Even little "Doodah" (affectionally known as Naomi) cried out "Gle-e-n-n and Ju-u-u-d-e-e" as we rode off on our little boat back to Panajachel.

Interns, IximchƩ, Paulinos and More

Sherrie, Glenn and I had the honor of meeting a CAM missionary intern for the summer. Katy S is spending several weeks down here working at an Orphanage. Katy is also classmates with Gary at JBU. Katy's aunt and I graduated from HS together. "Small World...Big Family."
We visited a pre-Mayan archaeological site, IximchƩ. Flat Stanley continues his journey. See previous post for explanation.
We stopped at a favorite restaurant and joined Johnny, Maria and another Intern.
Lunch followed by Coffee.

Flat Stanley Hits the Road

My sister has been here for several days now. We have been able to share our ministry with her. And as a project from her school in the states, she has brought along "Flat Stanley".
Then we visited Casita BenjamĆn. These children remind Sherrie of the kids she works with at McLaughlin Elementary.

Snapshots of Guatemala

Antigua is dotted with colonial buildings. As you walk along the sidewalk, you can spot artists drawing.
