A Man A Plan A Canal Panama

Panama City, Panama

Glenn and I have been invited to attend the
100 Year Celebration
 of South America Mission.
1915-2015

We were missionaries with SAM from 1985 - 2004 (4 years on loan to CAM International).  We have many memories of our 15 years of ministry in Bolivia.

We arrived 2 days early into Panama City, Panama
to get acclimated to sea level
and climatized to the warmer temperatures.

Today, we walked to Casco Viejo "old city", which reminded me a lot of Cartagena, Colombia, with it's narrow streets, old ruins and quaint coffee shops on nearly every corner.

Besides walking, we rented a 4 wheeled bicycle and rode along the seaside walking path, taking in the breath-taking views of the high rise condominiums and office complexes.  I have always thought that Panama City has one of the prettiest skylines I have ever seen.

The "Jenga" building.
Besides walking and riding the bike, we took the subway to a local mall. Things were kind of a "blur."

Glenn was pretty excited when we ate dinner at Sanborns Mexican Restaurant.  Glenn grew up enjoying this restaurant during his youth.

Just beyond the Bridge of the Americas - is the famous Panama Canal.

On Monday, we'll be traveling another 1.5 hours to a resort to participate in celebrating the 100 years of South America Mission.  We have fond memories of our ministry in Bolivia.  When we first left for Santa Cruz, Bolivia with a 4 year old (Ellen) and a 2 year old, (Karen), Glenn was an aircraft mechanic.  Now 30 years later, our family has changed, our ministry has changed, yet our God has remained the same.

Happy 100 Year Birthday to South America Mission

Great is His Faithfulness!

God's Mercy

 Psalms 118:1
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good:
because his mercy endureth for ever.

Missionary Co-workers

About a week ago, we were blessed to have a missionary couple stay with us for a week, on their way back to Uruguay.  Craig and Denise scheduled some "down-time" here in Guatemala after their busy month in the US and before their full-packed week of Team Leaders Meetings in Antigua.

I especially enjoyed getting some time to catch up on some reading, cross-stitching and also getting up each morning to take some Sunrise photos.

I also enjoyed French Toast at Casa PalapĆ³ Resort.  Delicious!

Thank you for your encouraging visit, Craig and Denise.

Two All Beef Patties....

Have you ever wondered what a hamburger tasted like in Guatemala?

Now there is a hamburger restaurant in a gas station parking lot, that serves GuateBurgers.  Yum.

(Actually we have not tried this place out - we still wonder what it might taste like....hmmm)

Oh, the Possibilities!

With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Sunrise at the Lake

Glenn and I are at the lake a couple of days.  I have a tradition of getting up at the crack of dawn to go outside of the gate, walk along the lake-shore here in Panajachel and take pictures of the volcanoes on the other side of the lake.

Today was one of those days.

I love Sunrises at Lake AtitlƔn!

Psalms 65:8
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.
